Weekend Update: March 24-26

Come celebrate the first weekend of spring at the fairgrounds. We’ve got a variety of events: The Raleigh Flea Market is Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Commercial and Education buildings and surrounding grounds. Come explore the hundreds of booths filled with antiques, clothes and handcrafted goods this weekend. As every homeowner knows, there’s always work to be done. This is especially true when your “home” is the size and scope of the N.C. State Fairgrounds. Several historic buildings and structures are located on the nearly 300 acres. The fairgrounds also hosts hundred of events annually and, of course, puts on the largest event in the state, and one of the largest fairs in the country, every October. Weekend Update: Dec. 30-Jan. 1

The Raleigh Indoor Holiday Classic Horse Show is today and Saturday at 8 a.m. in the Hunt Horse Complex. Admission is free. Old North State Antique Gun & Military Collector Show is Saturday and Sunday in the Scott Building. Antique guns, U.S. and foreign military arms and memorabilia will be exhibited, bought, sold, and traded. These include WWI, WWII, Civil War, and other conflicts. The Bulls, Bells and Barrels Bull Riding Event presented by Carousel Farms is Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Hunt Horse Complex. Weekend Update: Sept. 23-25

It’s a big weekend at the fairgrounds. The Southern Ideal Home Show takes over the Graham Building and the Exposition Center for three days with lots of great home improvement ideas. And this is the last weekend for the Flea Market. All the flea market vendors will have to move out to make room for the State Fair, so there will be plenty of deals to be had.
