If you’re at the fairgrounds this weekend, you’ll notice we’re getting ready for something big. It’s the annual Southern Farm Show. This is the largest agricultural exposition in the Carolinas and Virginia. The event, held Jan. 31 through Feb. 2, features more than 400 manufacturers with expert advice and the latest farm equipment, supplies and services. We might be living in a digital age, but this event will allow attendees to get up close and personal with farm equipment, so they can kick the tires and comparison shop in one location. Events include the FFA tractor and truck driving competitions, the annual meeting of the Tobacco Growers Association of N.C., the Ag Development Forum and the Southern National Draft Horse Pull. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Free admission and free parking.
