2 months away: Time to focus

Last week, I heard a great description of my job from a friend of mine. She was trying to explain to some out-of-state friends that in North Carolina, people stay excited about the State Fair all year long. According to her, our job is not about getting people excited about the fair; they already are. Instead, our job is about helping people focus on what they want to do this year at the fair. One way to avoid the headache of finding a parking spot is to hop on the Deep Fried Bus Ride. The service is available on CAT, DATA and Triangle Transit buses, and drops fairgoers off right in front of the gate. Designated bus lanes avoid the traffic congestion around the Fair, and get you through the gates…

Fairgoers in the Know: Part II

Historically speaking, the last four days of the Fair are the busiest. As such, these are the heaviest traffic days as well. Experienced fairgoers have found that the easiest way to get to the fairgrounds on any day is to ride the bus. On Thursday, you can catch a bus in Raleigh, Cary and Durham. On Saturday and Sunday, service expands to Garner and RTP. Go to the Ride the Bus page on our Web site to find out more about times, prices and locations to catch the bus. On the weekends, this is definitely the best option as the…
