Coming to the Fair with young ones in tow? A little advanced planning can help you make the most of your day.  Here are some tips and not-to-be-missed activities for the elementary-aged and younger at the fair. Buy your tickets before the fair starts. Tickets can be purchased at Food Lion, online, the N.C. Museum of History, State Farmers Market and at Gate 9 at the Fairgrounds. Pics or it didn’t happen! The Selfie Challenge is part scavenger hunt and part photo contest. Can you find all 14 items? Participation is easy: Visit the N.C. State Fair Snap a selfie with each listed item Upload your selfies to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and include  #ncstatefair  in the caption Some items will be harder than others. Be a State Fair Adventurer: Earn a ribbon by completing the scavenger hunt

The Fair makes it easy to have fun and learn something – and anyone can be a State Fair adventurer. Each year the Fair offers two scavenger hunts. One scavenger hunt features questions that relate to exhibits and locations on the fairgrounds. Brides-to-be will find the fairgrounds the place to be on Saturday and Sunday as the Southern Bridal Show and Expo sets up in the Graham Building. Meet more than 150 Triangle-area wedding experts.
