Weekend Events: April 1-3

As we gear up for the 2011 N.C. State Fair, Oct. 13-23, we’ll highlight some of the weekend activities at the Fair. Hopefully, they will inspire some of you to come out and enjoy the fairgrounds year round. The weekend starts on Friday at the Fairgrounds! Note: If video doesn’t play, try refreshing browser. First week of fall on the fairgrounds

If you couldn’t tell by the recent weather, the turning of the seasons is upon us. Today marks the first day of fall, which can mean only one thing: There are only 22 days (!) until the N.C. State Fair opens. As the leaves start to turn, college football ramps up and we start breaking out our jackets, things are buzzing around the fairgrounds. Bargain hunters paradise

The State Fair is just around the corner and that means that we’ve got to shut down the Fairgrounds to get ready. This is the last weekend for the State Fairgrounds Marketplace (a.k.a. The Flea Market) and for events that take place in the buildings — most notably this weekend is the Southern Ideal Home Show which is so large it is spread across three buildings: Dorton Arena, the Graham Building and the Exposition Center.
