The snow has melted and this weekend promises to be busy one at the fairgrounds. Come out and enjoy the mild weather at the Raleigh Flea Market, one of the largest in the Southeast, or one of the events listed below.
95th North State Toy & Hobby Show is Friday and Saturday in Dorton Arena. This event was originally scheduled for last weekend in the Scott Building but was postponed due to the winter weather conditions. Antique to modern collectible toys, including diecast and plastic models, Star Wars, Hot Wheels, Yu-gi-oh, Lord of Rings, Sci-Fi toys, Western toys and other collectibles will be available. More than 70 exhibitors are buying, selling & trading at this event. Hours are Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 daily or a weekend pass for $7. Ages 15 and under are admitted free.
The Bass & Salt Water Fishing Expo is Friday through Sunday in the Graham Building and Exposition Center. This is THE fishing event of the year, bringing together the finest products and services the fishing industry has to offer. Whether you’re looking to re-stock the tackle box, find out how to fish the hottest lure on the market, buy the boat to put you on the water or simply come connect other fishing enthusiasts, this event is the one not to miss. More than 150 vendors are offering everything to get you out on the water “rigged and ready” for the season. The expos also features a top-notch panel of national and regional pros to share their secrets on “When, Where and How” to have the best fishing trip possible. Show hours are Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is adults $9, seniors (60+) and military $8, children ages 6 to 12 $5, and ages 5 and under are admitted free. Admission good for all three days with return pass.
Carolina Piedmont Dog Agility is Friday through Sunday at the Hunt Horse Complex. Spectator admission is free. Events start daily at 8 a.m. and run till about 4 p.m.
Repticon Raleigh Reptile & Exotic Animal Show is Saturday and Sunday in the Scott Building. The event features vendors offering reptiles, supplies, feeders, cages and merchandise, as well as live animal seminars and frequent free raffles for coveted prizes. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. VIP entry is at 9 a.m. on Saturday only. Admission is $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages five to 12, and ages four and under are free. Special offers on 2-day and VIP tickets are online.
Carolina Coin and Stamp Show is Saturday and Sunday in the Holshouser Building. Coins, postcards, stamps and currency (U.S., foreign, ancient, gold & silver) will be available. Dealers will be buying and selling foreign, domestic and ancient currency. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
