If you’re headed to the fairgrounds this weekend, bring plenty of water because it looks like it’s going to be a scorcher. Stop by Saturday and Sunday for the weekly Raleigh Flea Market. Vendors will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily selling everything from watches and wingnuts to fresh fruit and furniture.
At the Hunt Horse Complex, visitors can watch show jumping events during the N.C. Hunter Jumper Association’s annual horse show. The event runs through Sunday with shows daily starting at 8 a.m. Admission is free for spectators. For more details, go to www.nchja.com.
The Scott Building will host the Gem and Jewelry Show Friday through Sunday. A variety of gems, jewelry, crystals, minerals and beads will be on display and for sale. You’ll also be able to view rare minerals, giant shark teeth and fossils. The event is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and admission is free. More information is available at www.frankcoxproductions.com.
Also, don’t forget Raleigh’s July 4th celebration is moving this year. We’ve enjoyed hosting the event for several decades, but the City of Raleigh has moved the event downtown this year. The State Fairgrounds will be closed July 4. For more information, click on the image below to visit the City of Raleigh website.
