The fairgrounds will be full of vintage, classic and antique collectibles this weekend with everything from classic cars to ancient coins. If you like your belongings to have a little history, then make sure you stop by for one of these wonderful events:
The Carolina Collector Auto Fest will cover the south side of the fairgrounds, including Dorton Arena, Graham Building and Expo Center. The car show will feature vehicles from 1900 to today. The event starts today at 10 a.m. and runs through 6 p.m. It will open again Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $10 daily and free for children under 10. The Scott Building will host the annual Woman’s Club of Raleigh Spring Antiques Show and Sale today through Sunday. Period furniture, fine and estate jewelry, silver, crystal and more will be available during the three-day event. There also will be a free lecture on caring for linens Friday at 2 p.m. The event will be open Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $7 and includes admission all three days.
Saturday and Sunday, coin and stamp collectors will gather for the Coin and Stamp Show. This is a great opportunity to view and buy coins, postcards and stamps from around the world. Admission is free and doors are open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition to these events, you also can find a variety of collectible treasures at the Raleigh Flea Market. Hundreds of vendors will be selling their goods Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. And, if that’s not enough, there’s also a Hunter Jumper show at the Hunt Horse Complex today through Sunday.
