Southern States Regional Morgan Horse Show runs through Saturday at the Hunt Horse Complex. This is the 44th year of the Southern States Regional Morgan Horse Show. This is a world-class event with more than 200 Morgans from across the United States traveling to compete in divisions ranging from Hunt and Classic Pleasure to English and Park classes both under saddle and in harness. There are also dressage, trail and carriage classes and vendors displaying a variety of unique equine gifts. Spectator admission is free. World of Champions Fight Night is Friday in the Holshouser Building. Event features action-packed professional boxing with competitors from Raleigh, Durham and the surrounding area.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. General Admission is $27 and VIP seats are $67.
NC Strongest Man & Woman Competition is Saturday in Dorton Arena. Come see more than 200 athletes compete in five strongman lift competitions. Free admission. Event hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Raleigh Durham Caged Bird Society’s 29th Annual Pet Bird Fair is Saturday in the Scott Building.
The event features exotic birds from around the world, large selection of vendors selling bird-related items, and a huge raffle to benefit avian research and conservation. Admission is free. Event hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
