Calling all bookworms! The popular Wake County Public Library Festival of Reading and Book Sale is this weekend in the Exposition Center. Books are copies that have been pulled from circulation or come from donations. All books are in good condition. Plenty of bestsellers are up for grabs, as well as cookbooks, textbooks and books on history and religion. Cash, checks and all major credit cards accepted. Admission is free.Customers can bring wagons and carts to assist with their purchases. Daily door prizes are given.

The Torch Arena Football is Saturday in Dorton Arena. Come watch the Triangle’s professional indoor football team take on the Savannah Stream. Tickets on sale online and at the Dorton Arena Ticket Booth. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Game starts at 7:30 p.m. and autographs are available post game. General admission is $14 for adults and $10 for children. VIP seats are $25.
Toy Train Sale and Swap Meet is Saturday in the Scott Building. More than 100 vendors will feature Lionel, K-Line, MTH, Weaver, Atlas, American Flyer, Marklin Bachmann, Varney “N”, “HO”, “O”, “S”. and “G” gauge trains, accessories, track, switches and hard-to-find parts and other toy-train-related items. Event features operating layouts, children’s activities and hands-on layouts. Workshops and minor on-site repairs also available. Auction starts 1 p.m. and raffle at 3 p.m. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. General admission is $6 for adults, free for children under 13 accompanied by paying adult.
Dixie Gun & Knife Classic is Saturday and Sunday in the Graham Building. Buy, sell or trade modern and collectible firearms, custom made knives, hunting and fishing equipment, ammo, gun accessories, reloading supplies and more. Hours are Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults and children under 12 are free with paying adult. One Tribe Fest 2017 is Saturday and Sunday in the Holshouser Building. This event helps support North Carolina communities, businesses, healers and artists and promotes a place for all to unite, hear live music; to see, touch and purchase works of art, buy fair trade and natural products, receive insight from holistic healers, intuitive readers and wellness coaches. Event includes live music, exhibits, lectures, yoga, meditations, dance movement, group healing and kid’s interactive area with outdoor activities.
Hours are Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes five raffle tickets. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
The Original Coin & Currency Show is Saturday and Sunday in the Martin Building. Show offers a variety of numismatic items including rare coins, precious metals, paper money, tokens, coin collecting books and supplies. Bring your coins and currency to be appraised or to sell. Hours are Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission.
