The Equestrian Exchange Consignment Sale will run Friday, Sept. 1, through Sunday, Sept. 3, with free admission throughout the weekend. The event is North Carolina’s largest equine-item consignment sale. It gives attendees the opportunity to buy and sell tack, saddles, show clothing, barn supplies, horse wear and other riding gear. Event hours Friday through Sunday are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The sale is in the Holshouser Building.
- The Kennel Club Dog Shows are Friday through Monday in the Graham Building. The American Kennel Club registered dogs will compete each day for points that will lead to championships, as well as dog obedience trials for degrees and obedience championship points. A different Kennel Club will host competitions each day. Friday is the Alamance Kennel Club, Saturday is the Durham club, Sunday is the Raleigh club and Monday is the Cary club. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for seniors on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Military are admitted for free with ID and children under age 7 are admitted for free.
- The Treasures of the Earth Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show is Friday through Monday in the Scott Building. The show offers a wide array of precious and semi-precious gem stones, pearls, beads and beading supplies, minerals, crystals and finished jewelry. There will be wire wrappers and jewelers on site. Hours are Friday from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The Raleigh Flea Market is Saturday and Sunday at the Commercial and Education buildings and outdoor grounds. The market features hundreds of vendors selling a variety of household items and collectibles. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
