Attention bloggers: N.C. sweet potato recipe contest

By on March 17, 2009

Check out www.ncsweetpotatoes.com for more info on its blogger recipe contestThe N.C. Sweet Potato Commission is hosting a fun contest for bloggers through Tuesday, March 31.

If you’re 18 years or older and have a blog, create an original recipe using sweet potatoes as the key ingredient, and post the recipe and a photograph to your blog. Ten recipes will be chosen and ranked based on taste, creativity and ease of preparation.

The “Short’n Sassy” recipe contest will award one lucky blogger with $1,000, along with $100 for five runners-up.

North Carolina is the number one producer of sweet potatoes in the country, and more than 62,000 acres were harvested in the state in 2008–so there should be no shortage of supplies for recipes.

Check out the Sweet Potato Commission’s Web site for additional details and to access an entry form, stop by our site for preparation tips…and get cooking! If you enter the contest, leave us a link to your blog’s entry in the comment section of this post.
