International markets continue to play an important role for North Carolina tobacco, especially as growers’ contracts with U.S. tobacco companies shrink. In an effort to grow foreign markets, Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler is leading an 11-person delegation of tobacco growers on a trade mission to Switzerland and Germany June 13-18.
The group will meet with officials from three of the largest tobacco leaf buyers in the world. The goal is to work through a variety of potential challenges so North Carolina can increase overseas trade.
Listen in as Commissioner Troxler and Rhonda talk about the trade mission.
