WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina.

Continuing last week’s tomato theme, Lisa and Brian prepare a Southern staple in this week’s segment – fried green tomatoes. The recipe is great for backyard gardeners who have unripe tomatoes left on the vine. Lisa tops each golden-brown slice with lemon aioli and chow chow.

    I am also from the South and I have never had green fried tomatoes either. But after seeing this video I will definitely have to get this recipe. I would also like to try the chow chow since I haven’t had that either.
