UNC-TV is serving up a second season of Flavor, NC

We have some good news for fans of “Flavor, NC.” The show, which highlights N.C. agriculture and stars our own Lisa Prince, has been picked up for a second season on UNC-TV.

New episodes won’t air until September, but Lisa and the Emmy-nominated team from BlueWater Media have already started filming across the state. Most recently, the crew filmed at the Carolina Distillery in Lenoir and at Perry Lowe Orchards and the Wine Cellar and Bistro in North Wilkesboro.

When we talked to Lisa about the show last year, she said it was not difficult finding farms, farmers and restaurants to highlight. “Actually, the opposite is true. We have so many wonderful farms and food businesses in North Carolina to choose from,” she said.

In Season 1, Lisa highlighted Hillsborough’s Coon Rock Farm, Sunburst Trout Farm in Canton, Smith’s Nursery in Benson, Goat Lady Dairy in Climax, Grandy’s Weeping Radish Farm BreweryGoodnight Brothers in Boone, and milk and ice cream from Maple View Dairy in Orange County.

The first season has received a lot of praise from viewers. Here’s what some fans are saying:

Great program to promote North Carolina.

“Just watched the Sunburst trout show. I’m totally inspired! I liked that the chef’s recipes highlighted local ingredients like the tomato smoked jam. Yum!”

“One of my favorite shows. Lisa has a great personality and makes me want to visit all the places she goes. I hope you will continue this show in the future.”

Fortunately for those viewers and others, there are more than 2 million farms across the state. That should be enough to keep Lisa busy for Season 2 and countless more seasons to come.

If you’ve never seen “Flavor, NC,” see it for yourself. The first season is now airing five times a week on UNC-TV and UNC-EX. You also can view several episodes online at UNC-TV. Also, don’t forget to connect with the show on Facebook for sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes information.
