The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will host three workshops focusing on growing local farmers markets across North Carolina. They are scheduled for Wilmington, Smithfield and Fletcher.
The workshops are geared toward market managers and their board members, and they’ll cover a range of topics, including food safety, effective promotional techniques and an overview of past and future marketing opportunities.
With more than 200 local and regional farmers markets across the state, Troxler says it has never been easier to find locally grown food in North Carolina. The workshops will provide market managers with helpful information and new ideas they can use to support local farmers and thrive in their communities.
Here’s the schedule:
All workshops will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost for each is $20, which covers materials and lunch. Pre-registration is required. Registration forms can be found here.
For more information about the workshops, contact Kevin Hardison at 919-707-3123 or Annette Dunlap at 919-707-3117.
