WRAL reporter Brian Shrader and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment
using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina. This week’s recipe continues a month of recipes featuring N.C.-grown sweet potatoes. North Carolina is a leader in sweet potato production, harvesting more than 64,000 acres for markets in the United States and around the world.
This weeks recipe is sliced sweet potato pie, a dessert that your grandmother may have made. Lisa notes that she “took this old fashioned recipe to a family function and it was a hit. They really enjoyed the sliced sweet potato for a change from the more traditional puree.”
